Dear Reader,
What would possess a 9-year-old boy to become a monk? And what would then convince that same man to walk 8,000 miles across the world, with no money and no plan, to deliver a message of peace to the leaders of the nuclear age?
That is the journey of Satish Kumar, and it is one of the most remarkable stories I have ever heard.
Satish is a peace activist, writer, teacher and former Jain monk who has spent his entire life asking the big questions: How should we live? What is required of us? How do we find meaning in a world that seems to be losing its mind?
In this first episode of The Seeds Will Grow, we go deep. We talk about his childhood in the monastery, the moment he decided to leave, and the extraordinary walk that followed. We talk about spirituality, education as transformation, and how any of us, right now, can build a richer connection with nature, with ourselves, and with the people around us.
This is exactly the kind of conversation I started this podcast to have. I think you’re going to love it.
